Belt Ranking
presentation of your martial arts skills in front of the instructors. After successfully completing a belt exam you will receive, a new belt, a diploma and a comment sheet from the instructors.
Between formal belt exams, student skills are recognized by awarding color stripes on the belt. Red stripes represent kicks, Green stripes represent forms, Blue stripes represent self-defense and Black stripes represent Kobudo(weapons).
Below is a list of the belts and a description of some of the training you receive as your skills become refined.
White
(10th Keup) |
A solid foundation of basic skills is an important part of this belt level. |
Yellow
(9th Keup) |
You will start to see double kicks and spinning kicks start to show up at this belt level. |
Orange
(8th Keup) |
You will start to combine kicks with other kicks and hand techniques at this belt level. |
Green
(7th Keup) |
The jumping kicks and exchange kicks begin at this belt level. |
Green w/ Black
(6th Keup) |
JuJutsu training begins for the adults at this belt level. |
Blue
(5th Keup) |
Kobudo training with the Bo begins at this belt level. |
Blue w/ Black
(4th Keup) |
Scissor motions and hook kicks begin at this belt level. |
Purple
(3rd Keup) |
Kobudo training with the Escrima Sticks and Nunchukas begin at this belt level. |
Red
(2nd Keup) |
The flying side kick is performed at this belt level. |
Brown
(1st Keup) |
Fade kicks and other advanced motions are at this belt level. |
Black
(1st - 10th Dan) |
Kendo training begins at this belt level. |
